Bird Box Activation

Overview

Interstate was approached by Netflix to help promote its highly anticipated thriller, Bird Box. The directive was simple: bring the film to life. In collaboration with MC2 Experiential Studio, our teams executed an immersive mobile experience, transforming a double decker bus into the movie’s safe house, where participants were blindfolded before braving a series of plot-driven jump scares and suspenseful narrations. From tactile special effects to audio-visual sequences, the themed environment evoked the tension felt by the characters in the movie. The experience culminated with participants receiving branded survival boxes before commemorating their adventure with a photo op. The month-long activation toured LA and Austin, amassing significant social engagement and helping the movie reach a record-setting 45 million views in its first week of streaming.
