Garden Spritz Activation

Overview

To promote its upcoming thriller, Bird Box, Netflix wanted to bring an immersive experience to audiences ahead of the movie’s release. Interstate and MC2 Experiential Studio were tapped to help execute an activation that would bring the movie to life. To start, we stripped the interior of a double decker bus to recreate the movie’s safe house setting. Drawing further inspiration from the movie, participants were blindfolded before being led onto the bus, where they would brave a series of suspenseful narrations and plot-based jump scares. Concluding the experience, participants were instructed to remove their blindfolds for one last audio-visual sequence before receiving their own ‘survival’ bird boxes and stopping for a branded photo op. The month-long activation toured LA and Austin, amassing significant social engagement and helping the movie reach a record-setting 45 million views in its first week of streaming.
